Life of a Thermoformed and CNC Routed Part
The following picture sequence describes the major steps that go into thermoforming a plastic part and then cutting it with a CNC router. Please follow along!
This picture depicts a sheet of plastic that has just been heated and dropped onto a mold. Fans will kick in and the plastic will then form to the mold while cooling.
This picture is the result of cooling and forming the original sheet of plastic.
Next, the part goes to a CNC machine and is cut out of the formed sheet. The final result is the ramp you see to the left.
