Life of an Injection Molded Part |
Northern Precision Plastics, Inc.Northern Precision Plastics, Inc. is located in Belvidere, Illinois, about an hour northwest of Chicago. Our building is currently 15,000 sq. ft. and we are currently looking into expanding our warehouse/storage capability. Operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with three shifts. The three main processes that constitute operation are injection molding, thermoforming, and CNC routing. When Northern was first started in 1992, injection molding was the only operation we performed, but as time has progressed, we have expanded to better meet our customer's needs. Thermoforming and CNC routing are two processes that go hand-in-hand. Thermoforming gives us the capability to start with a sheet of plastic and form a part. Our CNC routers then enable us to tweek and trim this part to the customer's specifications. Please click on the links to the left if you have further questions regarding each operation as well as samples of parts we have made in the past. The link entitled "Life of an Injection Molded Part" gives you a guided tour of the major steps that go into making an injection molded plastic part. Northern Precision Plastics, Inc.
